About The Position

The AutoCAD Operator performs entry-level drafting and design support for geotechnical engineering projects under the direction of senior staff. The role is primarily office-based and involves preparing engineering drawings, site maps, and technical figures using AutoCAD. The employee develops technical drafting skills over time and may assist with additional project-related tasks as experience grows. The role also requires a positive customer service attitude and an understanding of ECS Core Values.

Requirements

• 0 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• A valid driver's license is required if driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and responsible work ethic.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Emerging or developing proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to interpret technical data with guidance.
• Ability to work effectively in teams and independently.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and documentation.
• E-4 US Military rank may qualify if the candidate also meets the education, certification, and license requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Training, education, and/or certification in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Assist with drafting and design support for geotechnical and geostructural engineering projects.
• Prepare drawings, figures, and layouts using AutoCAD under supervision.
• Develop site maps, soil boring logs, and soil boring location diagrams.
• Draft soil profiles and related geotechnical visualizations.
• Assist in preparing engineering drawings, including retaining walls, slopes, foundations, and drainage systems.
• Draft engineering details and figures for reports and deliverables.
• Support preparation of reports, drawings, and project documentation.
• Perform other project-related tasks as assigned.
