About The Position

Northeast Precast is seeking two detail-oriented Drafters to join our Drafting Department. This is a full-time, in-person position supporting the preparation and revision of technical drawings for precast concrete projects. The ideal candidate has prior drafting experience and is comfortable working with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. This position requires accuracy, organization, and the ability to work closely with drafting, engineering, project management, and production teams.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, structural drawings, technical specifications, sketches, and markups.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good mathematical, measurement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous professional drafting experience is preferred.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
  • Drafting, CAD, engineering technology, or related technical education is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Create and revise accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Prepare shop drawings, production drawings, layouts, details, and related drafting documents for precast concrete projects.
  • Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, sketches, and project requirements.
  • Incorporate redlines, markups, field information, and approved revisions into project drawings.
  • Verify dimensions, notes, details, openings, connections, and other project information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify drawing conflicts, missing information, and discrepancies and communicate them to the appropriate team member.
  • Coordinate with drafting, engineering, project management, and production personnel to support project requirements.
  • Maintain organized drawing files, project records, and revision histories.
  • Complete assignments accurately and within established project deadlines.
  • Follow Northeast Precast drafting standards and document-control procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
