About The Position

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join their team at the Outpatient Clinic in New Bern, NC. This role is integral to a collaborative and supportive team committed to transforming the lives of individuals seeking assistance for substance use. The primary purpose of the Nurse is to provide patients with services including screening, medication/prescription management, assisting the treatment team, treatment after-care, and referral services. The position involves providing medication and medical assistance to mental health and substance abuse clients, offering guidance to Medical Assistants, and collaborating with other clinical professionals to facilitate positive client outcomes. The nursing professional is also responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and client medication logs, and assisting staff in maintaining a therapeutic and healthy clinical environment.

Requirements

  • An active, unrestricted Nursing License to practice in North Carolina (LPN)
  • Proficiency with EHR systems or technically savvy
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation for work-related travel

Nice To Haves

  • Prior mental health experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide patients with services including screening, medication/prescription management, assisting the treatment team, treatment after-care, and referral services
  • Provide medication and medical assistance to mental health and substance abuse clients
  • Offer guidance to Medical Assistant
  • Work in collaboration with other clinical professionals to facilitate positive outcomes for clients
  • Maintain accurate and up to date medical documentation and client medication logs
  • Assist other staff members in maintaining a therapeutic and healthy clinical environment for all clients
