About The Position
The Assistant Education Director role at Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (CARES) focuses on supporting the Education Director in maintaining the educational and vocational development of students and the professional development of teachers. This involves developing and implementing policies, programs, and curriculum plans. CARES is an educational program licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, serving students aged 5 to 21 with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. The program emphasizes teaching based on individual strengths and needs to increase student independence. This position supports daily operations and ensures a safe and healthy environment for students in Downingtown, PA.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Related Field required
- PDE K-12 principal and/or supervisor of special education certificate OR PDE administrative certification OR enrollment in supervisory certification program required
- Proficient computer skills
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position)
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines
- Valid driver's license must be maintained
Responsibilities

- Support the daily operations of the school
- Interview applicants for open positions
- Provided professional development to teachers and other staff
