About The Position

The Assistant Director plays an integral role in leading a KinderCare center to success. Working with the Center Director, this role supports teaching staff and families while helping achieve enrollment, accreditation, and operational objectives. The Assistant Director promotes the value of early childhood education and helps deliver KinderCare’s curriculum and care to children and families. The position may serve in different center roles as needed, including teacher, cook, and/or driver.

Requirements

At least two years of early childhood education experience.
Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and ability to ensure their use in the classroom.
Excellent administrative, organizational, verbal, listening, and communication skills.
CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
Meet state-specific guidelines for the role.
Physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors.
Able to assume low-level postures to maintain physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity.
Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents.

Responsibilities

Assist the Center Director in leading teaching staff, supporting families, and achieving enrollment, accreditation, and operational objectives.
Partner with parents who share a desire to provide the best care and education for their children.
Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners.
Serve in various center roles as needed, including teacher, cook, and/or driver.
