About The Position
GHJ Search and Staffing, the recruitment division of GHJ, is working with an organization in Braselton seeking an Assistant Controller. The role supports the Controller in overseeing accounting operations and financial reporting. This hybrid position is suited to a detail-oriented accounting leader who can help drive operational efficiency. The Assistant Controller assists with managing the accounting team, overseeing close processes, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 6 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- CPA preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Coordinate audit preparation and external reporting requirements.
- Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Mentor and support accounting staff.
- Partner with leadership on financial reporting and operational initiatives.
