About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting standards, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in the construction industry, including familiarity with WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, job costing, and lien waivers.
• Familiarity with tax compliance and regulatory filings.
• Knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements or automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
• Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets, monitor variances, and provide detailed forecasts.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Support audits by providing documentation and addressing inquiries.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy.
• Perform and review monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support job costing processes by ensuring accurate allocation of costs to projects, tracking project profitability, and % of completion.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and training to support their professional growth.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Provide strategic and operational support to the Controller and senior management as needed.
