In the pre/post-operative setting, qualified candidates will be responsible for meeting individual patient needs from pre-op to recovery by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care. Through collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team you will care for patients across the lifespan. The pre/post-op nurse will have an integral role in delivering high quality, safe, compassionate care to patients throughout their stay. Strong assessment, teamwork and interpersonal skills required. Responsibilities

  • Accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
  • Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
  • Meeting individual patient needs from pre-op to recovery by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.
  • Caring for patients across the lifespan through collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Delivering high quality, safe, compassionate care to patients throughout their stay.
