About The Position

The Registered Cardiac Sonographer obtains 2D and 3D echocardiograms with color and Spectral Doppler at patients’ bedsides and in the Echo Lab. The role performs Stress Echocardiograms and Dobutamine Stress echocardiograms as requested, and assists Cardiologists with TEE and Intracardiac Echo procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The sonographer rotates through the hospital on-call schedule and must arrive within 45 minutes of being called. The role also involves filing, computer data entry, answering phones, and providing reports to physicians.

Requirements

  • Preferably 3–5 years of experience in echo, including 2D Doppler, Color Doppler, and TEE.
  • Must obtain ARDMS or CCI certification for Adult Echocardiography, as required by each entity, within six months of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Some higher education beyond high school is preferred.
  • RDCS or RCIS filing.
