About The Position

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing required.
• Valid California RN State License required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• At least 1 year of relevant ambulatory or acute care experience in the area of specialty required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement individualized patient care based on observations.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring to maintain or improve care for the designated patient population.
• Implement appropriate reporting, referrals, and care in accordance with standardized procedures.
• Initiate emergency procedures when indicated.
• Use refined assessment skills and appropriate data sources to distinguish normal from abnormal signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance.
• Provide direct and indirect care services, including administering medications and therapeutic agents needed to implement treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitation plans of care.
• Perform skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and initiation of peripheral venous access.
• Observe signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications or treatments, general behavior, and general physical condition.
• Prioritize identified patient care problems and assume responsibility for their resolution, using available resources as appropriate.
• Plan patient care and education in collaboration with healthcare team members, considering the disease process, anticipated outcomes, treatment complications, and psychosocial needs.
• Provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Identify patients’ readiness for learning, ability to follow directions or instructions, and ability to give consent.
• Identify and make special adjustments for patients’ cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family, and condition-related needs.
• Participate in evidence-based improvement initiatives and/or councils or committees that improve nursing outcomes and the work environment in the unit or department.
• Identify and assess patient safety concerns related to age and developmental considerations; intervene to provide a safe environment and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
• Provide and accurately document timely direct and indirect patient care services that ensure patient safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection.
• Assist as a chaperone when needed after completing the required Chaperone Training.
