About The Position
Helix Traffic Solutions is a national leader in traffic control, work zone safety, and roadway infrastructure services. Quail Construction, a proud member of the Helix Traffic Solutions network, serves roadways across Arizona and Nevada with professional traffic control, construction, and traffic management support services. Quail Construction delivers high-quality, safety-driven solutions for roadway projects, infrastructure work, and special events. The Plan Designer role involves developing work area traffic control plans that meet customer requirements and determining permit needs. This position requires submitting plans for review, coordinating permit services, attending meetings with customers and agencies, revising plans as directed, managing multiple projects to meet contractor schedules, reviewing traffic plan drawings, and logging/tracking plans. The work is fast-paced, hands-on, and essential for maintaining roadway and event site safety.

Responsibilities
- Develop work area traffic control plans which meet customers work zone and project phasing requirements as well as determining if permit services are required
- Submit plans to City/Controlling agencies for review and approval as required
- Coordinate for permit services as required per customer
- Attend meetings with customer and City/Controlling agencies
- Revise plans per City/Controlling agency’s direction
- Manage multiple projects for timely completion meeting contractor’s schedule
- Review and advise on traffic plan drawings
- Log and track plans in Excel
- Other duties as assigned
