The Administrative Assistant I provides a variety of administrative and clerical support to an assigned unit or department.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of administrative or clerical experience, including contact with the general public and demonstrated customer service skills
  • Solid computer skills in office word processing, email, spreadsheet, and presentation applications

  • High School diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, type, proofread, and finalize a wide range of documents including correspondence, reports, forms, requisitions, invoices, work orders, and training materials
  • Copy and collate materials for distribution or records retention
  • Collect and maintain departmental attendance records
  • Serve as receptionist by greeting visitors, answering, screening, and directing telephone calls, gathering essential information, and providing general assistance
  • Open, sort, record, and distribute incoming mail, documents, and payments to appropriate personnel
  • Maintain computerized and paper filing systems to support departmental operations
  • Inventory and order office supplies and equipment
  • Coordinate repairs and servicing of office equipment
  • Perform other duties as requested
