About The Position

Requirements

• Meet the art history discipline standard through either an earned master's or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in art or art history, or an earned master's or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in art or art history.
• Submit unofficial academic transcripts and a cover letter with the application.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that support student learning and align with College loading policy, course objectives, and program learning outcomes.
• Facilitate student learning in accordance with College policies and course objectives.
• Use available technology to enhance instruction and use the Learning Management System, such as Canvas, for teaching, learning, assessment, and communication.
• Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and instructional materials.
• Maintain accurate student records and grades and submit requested information within established timelines.
• Provide timely and meaningful feedback and engage with students in productive ways that support learning and a positive College experience.
• Use active classroom teaching strategies that engage students with the curriculum.
• Support students outside class in connection with the curriculum and co-curriculum, and contribute to student retention and completion initiatives.
• Address student concerns and consult with the program chair to resolve issues.
• Meet all scheduled classes of the contracted course and notify the program chair in an emergency.
• Provide institutional support and community service and support the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.
• Interact professionally and cooperatively with students and coworkers and comply with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
• Know and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and other learning environments.
• Conduct responsibilities in accordance with FERPA, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
