About The Position
Forte Opening Solutions is a provider of commercial doors, frames, hardware, and specialty building products, operating across manufacturing and distribution. The company has more than $300 million in annual revenue and is modernizing its finance organization to support expanding operations and a multi-system environment. The Senior Corporate Accountant will help maintain the integrity of financial reporting across multiple entities and ERP systems. The role focuses on cash and banking, payroll accounting, intercompany transactions, and audit coordination, while also supporting consolidation processes and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable in a complex, fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Forte offers broad exposure across finance, operations, and leadership, along with the opportunity to contribute to modernization, process improvement, and scalable growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- At least 5 years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Proven ability to support or lead external audit processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and an ownership mindset.
- Ability to manage priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams.
- Continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency and scalability.
- Comfort working in a multi-system, evolving organization.
Nice To Haves
- Corporate accounting experience in a multi-entity or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, D365, or similar ERP platforms.
- Experience with OneStream or other consolidation and reporting tools.
- Experience with Paycom, including GL mapping configuration and reporting.
- Background in a vertically integrated or operationally complex company.
- Experience creating and maintaining Power Query-enabled Excel files.
- CPA or CPA-eligible.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple business units and systems.
- Review staff journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy, completeness, and GAAP compliance.
- Assist in preparing consolidated financial reporting.
- Oversee daily and monthly cash accounting functions, including reconciliations and cash position reporting.
- Maintain internal controls over cash and banking activities.
- Support banking relationships and related reporting requirements.
- Manage payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Partner with HR and payroll teams to support accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Administer and maintain GL mapping within Paycom, aligned with financial reporting requirements.
- Record, reconcile, and eliminate intercompany transactions across multiple operating entities.
- Document and resolve intercompany variances in a timely manner.
- Serve as a key contact for external auditors and lead audit coordination and support activities.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation, complete audit requests on time, and assist with addressing findings.
- Navigate and reconcile data across multiple ERP systems.
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process improvement.
- Support system implementations, integrations, and reporting enhancements.
