About The Position

The Production Team Lead in the Welding department will provide support to the Welding Supervisor in achieving daily, weekly and monthly goals in safety, quality, accuracy and production. The Production Team Lead will be responsible for expediting jobs through the manufacturing process by maximizing resources while reducing scrap/rework. This position will focus on managing workflow, providing technical support, and training staff, rather than performing hands-on production work. Our large production team consists of welders, assemblers, metal fabricators, powder coat operators, and more. As the Production Team Lead in the Welding department, you will report directly to the Welding Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4+ years' progressive experience in metal fabrication in a manufacturing environment.
  • Be an effective communicator, leader and trainer who can work with all levels of management and non-supervisory employees to execute the responsibilities of this Lead role.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and offer recommendations to prevent further issues.
  • Must be fluent in MS Office
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 55 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to read and use tape measure.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve day-to-day issues to support schedule attainment, safety, shipping and quality goals.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership on the production floor by setting an example for safety, quality, and work ethic.
  • Support and guide Welding team members, assisting with problem resolution, prioritization of work, and effective communication between departments.
  • Train, develop, and maintain training information on all Welding employees and make recommendations for employee advancement.
  • Complete production, scrap, and rework reports.
  • Act on behalf of supervisor when the supervisor is unavailable.
  • Enforce company safety rules in accordance with OSHA regulations.
