About The Position

The Welding Supervisor assists management with scheduling and supervising the welding team. The role oversees workflow across welding cells, supports production planning, maintains work instructions, and helps ensure welding operations are efficient, effective, safe, and organized. The supervisor has approximately seven direct reports and works with other team leads on continuous improvement. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with mandatory overtime when applicable.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of welding experience and/or welding certification.
• Forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification.
• Leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist management with scheduling welding workloads and communicate when schedules may need adjustment.
• Develop a routine schedule to ensure welders are functioning properly.
• Ensure the Work Activity Coordinator and welders understand daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Develop and maintain detailed work instructions to Metalworks standards.
• Control workflow through all welding cells.
• Evaluate and communicate needs for additional equipment and tools in welding areas.
• Lead efforts in new part setups.
• Assist with monitoring employee hours to balance overtime with internal and external customer requirements.
• Evaluate and document employee performance as necessary.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
• Ensure all weld cells operate as efficiently, effectively, and safely as possible.
• Work with other team leads to support continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise.
• Supervise approximately seven direct reports.
