This role involves reading blueprints and drawings, taking or reading measurements to weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead). The welder will determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements, set up components for welding according to specifications, and operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding. Quality and specification adherence are crucial, requiring the use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and rulers. The position also includes repairing and maintaining equipment, machinery, and other components, testing and inspecting welded surfaces, and following all safety protocols and standards to work in a safe and efficient manner.
