About The Position
Engineered Steel Products (ESP), a North Carolina-based steel fabrication company serving the construction industry, is hiring a Structural Steel Welder. The position involves precisely fitting, aligning, and welding structural steel components.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of proven experience as a structural steel welder or fitter in a construction or fabrication environment.
- Experience working with heavy structural steel.
- Experience with FCAW welding is preferred; MIG or Stick experience is acceptable.
- Commitment to safe work.
- Ability to walk, sit, and stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or tools weighing up to 50+ pounds.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with FCAW welding.
Responsibilities
- Perform FCAW and MIG welding to join steel parts according to industry standards.
- Inspect welded joints and structural assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Understand basic blueprints and welding symbols.
