About The Position
The Welder is responsible for cutting, shaping, and assembling metalwork and piping, operating appropriate equipment to build mechanical structures or parts with precision. The role includes preparing and executing welding joints according to welding procedures and systems while meeting safety and quality requirements. The employee may also be assigned other duties that support FieldCore’s vision and organizational values. This is a field-based role requiring 100% travel. The employee must be willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Comply with ISO certification requirements.
- English proficiency.
- Strong welding and grinding experience with turbine components and processes such as TIG and MMA.
- Ability to operate jacking fixtures, porta power, cranes, forklifts, oxygen and acetylene torches, and propane equipment.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete multiple projects within time constraints.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel 100%.
- Willingness and ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with power generation, including gas or steam turbines and associated auxiliary equipment.
Responsibilities
- Select and use the correct tools for proper execution of the work.
- Understand and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Maintain responsibility for quality and safety in the workplace.
- Use hand grinders to grind welds back to their original shape and contour.
- Review quality documents as required.
- Operate heating torches, including oxy-acetylene and gas torches.
- Prepare and execute welding joints according to applicable welding procedures and systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
