About The Position

CDI is a nationwide manufacturer of custom HVAC roof curbs, curb adapters, and equipment mounting systems. The Welder performs welding and fabrication tasks to assemble metal components and products according to engineering specifications, helping ensure the structural integrity and quality of manufactured goods. The role requires proficiency in welding techniques, blueprint reading, and maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.

The position works from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. CDI describes its core values as FAST, EASY, FUN, COMMUNITY, and GROWTH.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Welder in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
• Proficiency in MIG welding is required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, symbols, and basic weld procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision measuring instruments.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on occasion.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of TIG or Flux-Cored welding.
• Current or previous welding certification, such as AWS; alternatively, ability to pass an internal weld test.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components and assemblies using MIG and other specified techniques according to blueprints and work orders.
• Prepare materials for welding by grinding, cutting, fitting, and positioning parts for proper alignment.
• Conduct in-process visual inspections of welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment, hand tools, and measuring instruments safely and properly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety protocols and 5S principles.
