Welder (1st Shift)
About The Position
The Welder manufactures parts to plant specifications accurately and on time using weld machine centers. The role involves interpreting blueprints and work orders, welding and aligning metal components, conducting routine checks, handling rework, and verifying completed work against blueprint tolerances. The employee must comply with quality, safety, and sanitation regulations. Duties may be expanded by management as needed. This position is performed in a factory environment. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and works near moving mechanical parts. The environment is loud, with occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, one to three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and understand documents such as work orders and blueprints.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand blueprints before starting a project.
- Weld metals using appropriate materials for joining them.
- Address parts flagged for rework responsibly.
- Check finished work to ensure it falls within blueprint tolerances.
- Align and clamp components using tools such as calipers and rulers.
- Perform routine checks.
- Comply with quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.
