About The Position
The UVA Office for Sustainability is looking for a creative and passionate creator to work with our Associate Manager of Communications to help us tell the story of UVA Sustainability. This position involves content creation, strategic communications, and event promotion for the fall semester, with the potential for continued involvement for the remainder of the academic year. Tasks: Capture photos and videos of the people and places advancing sustainability at UVA. Create content for Reels, YouTube shorts on various topics such as recycling right, behind the scenes, and other sustainability-related topics. Support Infrastructure Month planning, execution, and promotion. Support role in digital and print communications for UVA Sustainability. Support role in website content creation.
Requirements
- Storytelling
- Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills are a must.
- Excellent attention to detail, including strong editing skills.
- Interpersonal skills for interviewing and collaborative work.
- Content creation and editing (using Canva, Instagram Reels, iMovie.)
- Understanding of UVA, Office for Sustainability branding and accessibility standards.
- Strong graphic design skills.
- Portfolio of video content
- A short cover letter
