Responsibilities

• Assist technicians and veterinarians during treatments and procedures.
• Clean and straighten exam rooms to prepare for incoming patients, following OSHA guidelines
• Assist technicians with in-house laboratory testing (CBC/chemistry, Intestinal Parasite Exams, preparing cytology slides, etc.)
• Accurately document patient care and treatments in the medical record
• Collaborate with the team to maintain an efficient workflow and positive hospital culture
• Participate in ongoing training and growth opportunities within the practice
• Be familiar with infectious and common zoonotic diseases, including prevention, and the steps to reduce or eliminate transmission
• Assist in restraining pets in a manner that allows necessary procedures to be done with minimal stress to patients, and ensure the safety of patients and people
• Take vitals as requested by doctor; draw up vaccines, flea/tick medication/prevention, etc.
• Assist with boarding as necessary
