About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join a successful animal hospital full-time, approximately 40 hours per week. The Veterinary Assistant works closely with the veterinarian and hospital staff to support the health and well-being of pet patients. The role includes assisting with appointments, coordinating animal care, preparing medications, reviewing records, and completing or updating medical records. The hospital is open on weekends, and employees are scheduled for weekend shifts.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is required.
- Knowledge of animal care and handling.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment.
- Patience and a love for animals.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Avimark.
Responsibilities
- Triage pets as they arrive at the hospital.
- Interview pet owners to obtain patient history.
- Take vital signs.
- Assist with appointments.
- Keep accurate patient records.
- Coordinate animal care.
- Prepare medications.
- Review, complete, and update medical records.
- Work closely with the veterinarian and hospital staff to support patient health and well-being.
