About The Position

VCA Lakota Hills Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to support a six-doctor team that cares for dogs and cats. The hospital emphasizes compassionate medicine, long-standing client relationships, and creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients. The role supports veterinarians and technicians with patient care, procedures, client service, and hospital operations. The position is located at 5130 Tylersville Rd, West Chester Township, OH 45069. Compensation starts at $15–$18 per hour and is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a veterinary setting.
• Passion for animals and a desire to learn and grow in the veterinary field.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfort handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations and procedures.
• Take patient histories and perform temperature, pulse, and respiration (TPR) checks.
• Restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare and clean examination rooms.
• Assist with radiographs, laboratory sample collection, and basic in-house diagnostics.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support charting.
• Provide client education and excellent service during visits.
• Support surgery preparation and recovery as needed.
• Help maintain a clean, stocked, and organized hospital environment.
