About The Position

Modern Animal is hiring skilled Veterinary Assistants to work alongside veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide care to patients. The role involves supporting clinical appointments and procedures, maintaining accurate medical records, completing laboratory and radiology work, communicating with clients, and helping maintain the clinic. Veterinary Assistants are also expected to contribute to local marketing efforts when needed and to model a culture of continuous learning, work-life balance, self-compassion, and a blame- and judgment-free workplace.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Strong work ethic.
• Forward-thinking and curiosity.
• Ability to collaborate as a team player.
• Excellent client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle and restrain pets for examinations.
• Record accurate medical records using appropriate veterinary terminology.
• Assist medical team members with appointments, X-rays, laboratory work, and other procedures.
• Complete laboratory work as needed.
• Perform radiology with an understanding of appropriate fields.
• Complete medical calculations as needed.
• Understand commonly used veterinary medications.
• Clean and maintain the clinic as needed.
• Collaborate closely with veterinarians and coworkers.
• Communicate discharge instructions to owners.
• Act as a Modern Animal brand ambassador, including implementing local marketing efforts to grow clinic membership as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the team leader.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and excellence.
