About The Position

The Senior Technical Program Manager owns end-to-end delivery of complex enterprise implementations for health systems and payers, from contract through go-live and hypercare. The role is accountable for on-time delivery against committed scope, coordinating Product, Engineering, Data, Clinical, and customer IT and operations teams, and serving as the primary customer-facing voice for status, risks, and next steps. The role leads technical integration and implementation work, including EHR connectivity, payer and clearinghouse feeds, API integrations, data pipelines, environment readiness, security reviews, test data, and UAT. It translates customer requirements into scoped engineering work, supports HIPAA and SOC 2 reviews and BAAs, and turns recurring implementation friction into product and platform improvements. The Senior Technical Program Manager also develops repeatable delivery processes, implementation playbooks, and delivery metrics, and mentors the growing delivery function. The position requires strong technical depth, enterprise customer presence, exceptional written communication, and demonstrated ownership of complex customer-committed programs.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years as a Technical Program Manager or equivalent at a top-tier technology company or peer, owning large, cross-functional, customer-committed programs.
  • Real technical depth through experience as a software engineer, solutions architect, or equivalent, or demonstrated standing to lead design reviews with senior engineers.
  • Ability to read architecture diagrams, API specifications, and data models fluently and identify gaps.
  • Track record of delivering enterprise customer implementations or launches with hard external commitments.
  • Experience as the primary technical contact for demanding enterprise customers and in running executive steering meetings that lead to decisions.
  • Exceptional written communication, including the ability to produce concise, actionable program narratives and readable status updates.
  • Bias for action and ownership, including taking initiative and following work through to completion.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where plans change frequently.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in revenue cycle, utilization management, or prior authorization.
  • Experience delivering AI or ML products into production for enterprise customers and understanding the implications of nondeterministic outputs.
  • Experience building a delivery function from scratch.
  • PMP, SAFe, or similar credentials.
  • Experience writing a correction-of-error document that changed how a team works.
  • Experience with health systems, payers, or other large regulated institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full delivery lifecycle for enterprise customer implementations, from kickoff through go-live and hypercare, against committed timelines and scope.
  • Build and run integrated program plans across Product, Engineering, Data, Clinical, and customer IT and operations teams; manage the critical path.
  • Run weekly working sessions, executive steering meetings, and internal delivery reviews with a focus on decisions.
  • Track dependencies, risks, and blockers, escalating early with proposed solutions.
  • Own go-live readiness, including cutover plans, rollback criteria, support handoffs, and the go/no-go call.
  • Create delivery plans, weekly status narratives, risk memos, retrospectives, and correction-of-error reviews.
  • Lead and understand technical integration architecture, including EHR connectivity, payer and clearinghouse feeds, API integrations, and underlying data pipelines.
  • Lead technical design discussions with customer IT teams and engineers; translate requirements into scoped and sequenced engineering work and challenge requests that do not fit the architecture.
  • Own environment readiness, including data access, security reviews, VPN/SFTP/API connectivity, test data, and UAT.
  • Partner with Security and Compliance on customer security questionnaires, HIPAA and SOC 2 reviews, and BAAs.
  • Identify recurring implementation friction and turn it into product and platform requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer program leadership, setting and managing expectations.
  • Present to customer executives, including VP Revenue Cycle, CIO, and CMO, and explain technical decisions appropriately.
  • Manage customer-side change, including workflow redesign, end-user readiness, and adoption.
  • Own the documented handoff to Customer Success and Support.
  • Build reusable implementation playbooks, templates, checklists, timelines, and gating criteria.
  • Define and instrument delivery metrics, including time-to-value, milestone adherence, defect escape rate, and customer health.
