Technology Teacher - St. Barnabas School

About The Position
St. Barnabas Catholic School is seeking an engaging, adaptable, and innovative Technology Teacher to lead computer science, digital literacy, and educational technology instruction for students in Pre-K through 8th grade. The teacher will foster a safe, creative, age-appropriate learning environment. Instruction will help younger students build foundational motor and technology skills, while older students develop critical thinking, digital citizenship, basic coding, and media literacy skills. The role includes teaching age-appropriate technology skills and curriculum across early childhood, elementary, and middle school. Digital citizenship principles—including online safety, cyberbullying prevention, copyright, and digital footprint awareness—are to be integrated across all grade levels.
Responsibilities
- Teach basic device handling, mouse skills, touchscreen navigation, spatial reasoning, age-appropriate educational software, and foundational keyboarding to Pre-K through 2nd-grade students.
- Teach formal keyboarding, Google Workspace basics, internet safety, digital citizenship, and introductory block-based coding, such as Code.org, to 3rd- through 5th-grade students.
- Guide 6th- through 8th-grade students in advanced digital literacy, basic web design and programming, research skills, hardware basics, and ethical AI and technology usage.
- Integrate online safety, cyberbullying prevention, copyright, and digital footprint awareness across all grade levels.
- Foster a safe, creative, and age-appropriate learning environment.
