About The Position

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Radiology program
• High School Degree or equivalent
• 0-2 years of work experience

• Upon completion of the ARRT radiology registry, a promotion will be awarded from a student tech position to a vacant radiology technologist position.
• The promotion wage increase will be based on passing the radiology tech registry.

Responsibilities

• Aid with imaging exams
• Assist with diagnostic exams
• Perform clerical duties including record keeping
• Maintain high quality services
• Communicate effectively with patients/families and all care providers
• Perform all diagnostic routine procedures (minor trauma, fluoroscopy, minor surgery, and routine studies)
• Acquire requisition and check for appropriate clinical
• Obtain appropriate supplies and prepare room for patient
• Assess patient’s condition and level of cooperation and make appropriate judgment of proper care
• Notify nurse and chart all infiltrates and reactions
• Quality check films before sending to radiologist to include markers, all pertinent information needed for appropriate dictation
• Write additional information on request as needed
• Keep room cleaned and stocked at all times
• Respond to codes and other emergency situations appropriately
• Explain procedure to patient and introduce self and identify department
• Inform patients and families of all delays (Including calling inpatient's room when procedure is delayed more than 1 hour)
• Assist other technologists when not busy in assigned area
• Charge procedure and supplies when exam is completed
• Add surgical charges when needed
• Operate the PAC’s system appropriately and verify studies before sending to archive
• Report equipment problems to supervisor, in-charge tech and document confirmation numbers
• Maintain student confidentiality
