About The Position

Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital’s Imaging team is hiring a Radiology Tech Student for a paid, hands-on opportunity to perform diagnostic procedures within the student’s authorized scope of practice under the supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist. The position is intended for eligible students enrolled in a radiologic technology program and provides experience in diagnostic imaging while supporting safe, efficient, high-quality patient care. This is a temporary student opportunity designed as a bridge to a professional radiology career. After completing schooling and meeting applicable requirements, the goal is for the caregiver to advance into a Registered Radiology Tech position. Caregivers generally should not remain in the student role for longer than six months after completing their clinical hours.

Requirements

Current enrollment in a JRCERT- or AMA-approved radiologic technology program.
Documented completion of required clinical and didactic training in accordance with state regulations.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Ability to practice within the applicable scope of state licensure.
Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and patient-care skills.
A desire to learn, grow, and build a career in medical imaging.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic procedures within the authorized scope of practice under the supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
Prepare and educate patients for imaging examinations.
Verify patient identification and imaging orders.
Perform examinations according to department protocols.
Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
Follow radiation safety and infection prevention practices.
Operate imaging equipment and related information systems.
Maintain accurate patient and procedure documentation.
Collaborate with the Imaging team to provide safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.
