About The Position

The Radiology Student Tech assists with patient care by observing and assisting a licensed technologist with stationary and portable X-ray equipment. The role includes preparing and positioning patients for X-ray examinations, transporting patients, and helping the technologist move patients. The student will have the opportunity to learn how to use the electronic medical record (EMR) and complete paperwork. The position also supports the radiology team by maintaining high standards, stocking and cleaning rooms, and responding quickly to emergencies such as a patient fainting or becoming unsteady during a procedure.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Current enrollment in a Radiologic Technology school.
At least one year of Radiologic Technologist school experience.
Ability to push, pull, bend, and safely transfer patients.
Ability to ambulate without assistance.

Responsibilities

Prepare and position patients for X-ray examinations.
Transport patients from the emergency room to the X-ray room and assist the technologist with moving patients.
Learn to use the EMR and complete paperwork.
Work as part of a team to maintain high standards in radiology.
Perform routine duties such as stocking and cleaning rooms.
React quickly to emergency situations, including patients fainting or becoming unsteady while standing for procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
