About The Position

The Radiology Tech Associate performs patient-care duties and other professional activities to support patient care and treatment. The position works under the supervision of a radiology technologist and helps monitor the flow of patient activities in the department. Duties support diagnostic imaging procedures across assigned modalities and the employee’s career pursuits.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
Clinical experience based on the educational program associated with the medical imaging career pursued.
BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

Senior enrollment in a radiography program preferred.
Medical clerical skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform basic diagnostic x-rays under the supervision of a radiology technologist.
Identify patients and assist them with questions about procedures.
Prepare patients for exams and ensure patient safety when the radiology technologist is absent.
Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media as directed for administration by an authorized licensed practitioner, technologist, or registered nurse.
Assist physicians and technologists with diagnostic exams in the assigned modality and career area, including procedures requiring contrast media.
Retrieve patient orders and requisitions and complete administrative or miscellaneous workflow tasks in RIS, EMR, or other standard applications.
Assist patients with restroom needs, bedpans, urinals, and other ancillary clinical support needs.
Assist with administrative duties and quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
