About The Position

The Radiology Technician Student works under the supervision of a Registered Technologist and performs duties involving a variety of technical procedures using ionizing radiation to detect pathology. The student produces quality diagnostic images and provides anatomically correct views for the Radiologist. The role also requires practicing radiation safety and following departmental safety procedures. Additional duties may be assigned when they are within the scope of the role.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in a School of Radiologic Technology.
• BLS certification required.
• Decision-making skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a professional, customer-centric composure in difficult or challenging situations.
• Ability to work from broad directions and be self-motivated.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, guests, and hospital personnel.
• Ability to show compassion and sensitivity for patient comfort.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to assist and maneuver patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.

Responsibilities

• Practice radiation safety and follow departmental safety procedures.
• Assist and maneuver patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.
• Perform additional duties within the scope of the role as assigned.
