About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a responsible, motivated, and thoughtful person to manage a moving and storage center. The Storage Center Manager is responsible for keeping the center profitable and efficient by hiring and mentoring effective staff, managing inventory and equipment, overseeing the personnel budget, and resolving problems as they arise. The work is varied, fast-paced, and focused on providing customers with high-quality service. The position includes two paid hands-on working interviews and a $100 hiring bonus. A $300 cash bonus is also offered upon completion of U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. The work may involve moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Protective clothing or gear may be required. Physical demands include remaining stationary for extended periods indoors and outdoors, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine product users in Florida and other listed states. Requirements

  • 1–3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry, with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
  • Computer expertise.
  • Organizational expertise.
  • Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit-and-loss accountability.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform profit-and-loss analyses.
  • Hire and mentor new team members.
  • Track and itemize inventory.
  • Manage the fleet to ensure equipment is clean and well maintained.
  • Manage the personnel budget.
  • Ensure customers receive high-quality care.
  • Track fuel receipts and petty cash.
  • Clean and monitor the premises and maintain a secure environment.
  • Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
