About The Position

The Store Manager oversees the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations with limited direct supervision. The role is responsible for cleanliness, financial accuracy, operational excellence, customer relationships, sales, and customer account management. Store Managers interact with customers in person and by phone and use a structured sales process. The role includes routine administrative duties and may require travel to other sites and daily bank deposits.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of customer-facing work experience.
• Current valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the site, including the office, storage buildings, and surrounding areas, through ongoing maintenance such as sweeping, mopping, and grounds maintenance.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Perform administrative tasks, including maintaining auction files, following up on delinquent accounts, monitoring store budgets, and preparing and delivering bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees to support the company culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
