About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong working knowledge of solar PV systems, including inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, LBDs, and SCADA systems.
• Ability to independently perform preventive and corrective maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve moderate technical issues, including inverter and performance faults.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to apply safety protocols, conduct hazard assessments, and perform LOTO procedures in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to assigned job sites as needed.
• Ability to walk long distances on uneven terrain, stand for extended periods, climb ladders and equipment structures, and occasionally work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; the company cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or certification in renewable energy technology or electrical systems.
• Three or more years of relevant technical experience in the renewable energy industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform solar operations and maintenance safely, applying site procedures, job hazard analyses, and lockout/tagout practices.
• Identify, mitigate, and report hazards and near misses; coach team members on safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements by interpreting regulations, verifying field adherence, and correcting non-compliant conditions.
• Independently maintain, troubleshoot, and repair solar PV modules, inverters, combiner boxes, LBDs, trackers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Analyze SCADA data, alarms, electrical measurements, and performance trends to diagnose complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Site Leads, Site Managers, and Engineers to resolve high-risk or system-level issues and minimize downtime.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance by prioritizing work orders, estimating labor and materials, and sequencing tasks.
• Lead inspections, testing, and commissioning, verifying system performance, workmanship, and compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
• Complete and review SAP Work Orders and inspection findings to support compliance, audits, and asset site management.
• Mentor and guide Associate and Trainee technicians through hands-on instruction, technical oversight, and safety coaching.
• Serve in an assigned on-call capacity, remaining available by mobile phone, responding within 30 minutes, and reporting to the work site within 2 hours when required.
