About The Position

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare-related field, such as paramedic, RN, EMT, respiratory therapist, or hospital technician.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Current provider-level ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent interpersonal and human relationship skills.
• Creativity and flexibility in designing innovative approaches to solving problems.
• Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to present data to diverse groups of stakeholders.
• Ability to quickly learn new technology.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Working knowledge of computer functionality, telecommunications, and audio and video equipment.
• Knowledge of healthcare documentation systems.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information.
• Ability to meet moderate to heavy physical demands and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Attendance is an essential job function.
• Frequent inter-facility driving or travel is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma preferred.
• Associate degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience with healthcare information technologies preferred.
• Experience working with medical simulation education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate low- and high-fidelity human patient simulated learning.
• Assist with the operation and maintenance of simulation equipment.
• Set up rooms and ensure equipment, props, and actors are available for each scenario.
• Help ensure smooth operation of each scenario from start to finish.
• Foster collaborative relationships within the department, across hospital departments, and with outside agencies.
• Provide educational programs for clinical staff, physicians, and the community based on the patient population served and requests.
• Collaborate with the Simulation Center Coordinator to validate staff clinical competency using scenario-based simulation.
• Assist the Simulation Center Coordinator in developing innovative scenarios.
• Provide internal and external training and outreach on simulation center operations and functionality.
• Represent the simulation center in the community through outreach to build support for local use.
• Participate in facility tours and marketing of the center as requested.
• Complete annual organizational employment requirements, including TB testing, safety training, patient safety training, and mandatory in-services.
