About The Position

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Pediatric Emergency Department experience required
• Formal Pediatric Triage training required
• Current NYS RN License required
• Majority of recent experience must be in dedicated Pediatric ED setting
• Acute care hospital experience required
• Strong pediatric emergency assessment and triage skills required
• Ability to work independently in high-acuity emergency settings required
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills required
• English proficiency required (Read, Write, Speak)
• Associate Degree in Nursing or higher required
• AHA BLS certification required

Nice To Haves

• PALS preferred
• ACLS preferred
• EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
• Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center experience highly preferred
• Adult Emergency Department experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to pediatric patients in acute care ED setting
• Perform rapid patient assessments and pediatric triage
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions accurately
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Respond effectively to emergency and trauma situations
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate documentation within EPIC EMR
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care
• Ensure compliance with ED protocols and patient safety standards
• Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
• Support safe and efficient patient flow within the emergency department
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols
• Deliver compassionate care in high-stress emergency situations
