About The Position
The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability through the nursing process for the surgical care of Center patients, working in collaboration with other health care providers. The RN monitors patients throughout the surgical process and uses clinical judgment to determine appropriate nursing actions, including maintaining control in emergency situations. The nurse makes independent clinical decisions as appropriate regarding patients’ nursing-care needs and communicates them to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current state RN license.
- CPR and ACLS required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the OR.
Nice To Haves
- Orthopedic surgery experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients throughout the surgical process.
- Manage monitoring equipment, fluid lines, tubes, drains, and catheters as needed, including supporting the operative extremity.
- Use sound judgment in determining appropriate nursing actions and maintain control in emergency situations.
- Complete CPR, PALS, and ACLS certification or recertification.
- Make independent clinical decisions as appropriate regarding patients’ nursing-care needs and communicate them to appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrate a team-player attitude and use work time efficiently.
