About The Position

We are recruiting for a mission-driven Manager, Portfolio/ DHMP Technology Projects to join our team at Denver Health. This role serves as a single point of contact for all assigned project manager work efforts, leading the PMO within DHMP. The Manager will support, comply with, and mature all DHMP project processes, policies, and procedures, championing continuous improvement. The position involves managing assigned team member performance and the quality of project/program-based deliverables, ensuring adherence to Denver Health and quality assurance processes consistently across all project/program work efforts. The Manager will also mentor and coach PMO team members. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4-6 years of experience in project management, including management of large-scale, complex/cross-functional projects
  • 1-3 years of experience in direct personnel management in a manager, supervisory, or team leader role
  • Strong communicator with the ability to clearly convey information and instructions across interdependent teams and organizational levels.
  • Demonstrates exceptional analytical skills and an ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies, solutions, and initiatives.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, a proactive nature, is result-driven, has exceptional problem-solving skills, and works comfortably in a group/collaborative setting.
  • Works comfortably with business executives and leadership, has an ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines, and has the ability to stay flexible with changing priorities.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a team into consistent performance improvement.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several different projects, efforts, and initiatives.
  • Ability to move seamlessly between strategic and tactical.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, Project Professional, and Visio.
  • Ability to understand and use other applications and software solutions required to maintain daily business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and manages work assignments for direct reports – ensuring adequate work effort coverage and fair distribution across the teams while facilitating succession planning for key roles.
  • Able to fill in for team members as needed to ensure work effort continuity.
  • Role models coaching for leadership development, collaborative problem solving, and continuous improvement utilizing innovative, solution-focused techniques.
  • Establishes and facilitates effective strategic and project management governance and oversight.
  • Proactively champions department and organizational initiatives, driving heightened customer focus, leadership development, and continuous improvement.
  • Coaches, mentors, influences, and motivates project team members, stakeholders, peers, and resources to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Key PMO and department liaison with our customers, team members and vendor partners to drive successful delivery of large-scale, complex/cross-functional, multi-project programs managed within the PMO.
  • Analyzes and monitors budget, issue, risk and change management processes across all assigned program efforts, aligning with PMO standards and industry best practice.
  • Maintains detailed understanding of project/program priorities and ensures alignment across all program coordination efforts.
  • Serves as a single point of contact for all program/project vitals associated with assigned work efforts; builds and manages all program deliverables; directs, monitors, and validates project team member performance.
  • Leverages Lean tools and techniques to collaboratively develop and operationalize essential standard work, with a bias for continuous process improvement.
  • Leads team, department, and/or organizational Lean events.
