About The Position

Requirements

• Masters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program
• Current, or eligibility for, MN license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant
• BLS/ACLS certification
• ATLS certification or obtained within two years

Nice To Haves

• Family Nurse Practitioner license is preferred for Nurse Practitioner applicants

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of trauma and post-operative patient care from admission to discharge for your assigned trauma team, as well as general inpatient care for teams that are busy
• Focus on post call duties – tertiary exams, discharges, coordinating care
• Interface with all levels and disciplines of the healthcare team to increase the quality of patient care, patient education and streamline the discharge process
• Support staff surgeons in the Surgery Clinic (one half day per week)
• Actively participate in quality improvement
• Assist with the education and guidance of surgical residents
• Assist with research
