About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD.
• State pharmacist license.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without an accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Pharmacy Manager to track weekly sales and control inventory; order pharmaceutical stock as needed to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
• Weigh, measure, and mix drugs and other medical compounds, and fill bottles with the correct quantity and composition.
• Dispense non-prescription medications and advise self-medicating patients as appropriate.
• Maintain open communication with health and insurance professionals.
• Perform patient immunizations on a regular basis.
• In the Pharmacy Manager’s absence, help schedule pharmacy associates, recognize performance, administer discipline as required, and assign work to use staff skills effectively and meet company profit objectives.
• Assist the manager with ongoing training and development of department personnel to improve performance, support development, reduce turnover, and control labor costs.
• Help control department expenses by monitoring and improving operations, meeting labor goals, and reducing shrink losses.
• Respond efficiently and courteously to customer complaints and questions, and counsel customers on prescription-related issues, including adverse drug reactions, relevant patient history, medication storage, and medication questions.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer service and work with the Pharmacy Manager to address deficiencies.
• Help maintain a safe and clean department through housekeeping practices that meet company, health department, and OSHA standards.
• Maintain appropriate department records and files, which may include associate performance and discipline records and sales plans.
• Submit required pharmacy reports documenting department activities.
• Cooperate with coworkers and superiors to support the smooth operation of the department and store.
• Continuously improve job performance and perform staff duties as required.
