About The Position

UPMC Presbyterian Campus is hiring a Limited Part-Time Pharmacist to collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes and deliver quality, safe pharmacy services. The role supports cost-effective pharmacotherapy, experiential education for current and future healthcare practitioners, and drug-related research. Pharmacists may pursue growth through the pharmacy career ladder, including opportunities in the operative satellite pharmacy and sterile products area.

Requirements

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the practicing state.
• Pharmacist licensure and Act 34 clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Previous pharmacist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, maintain, and screen patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications while entering orders and/or verifying medications.
• Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Interpret and evaluate physician orders; prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medication dosage forms for inpatient and outpatient treatment in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions as required, using aseptic technique in an accepted sterile product preparation area.
• Organize daily operational duties and assist in supervising pharmacy technicians, pharmacy aides, student interns, and other ancillary personnel involved in pharmaceutical care.
• Fill prescription orders in accordance with state and federal regulations, using technological resources and equipment.
• Provide drug information and/or educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.
