About The Position

We're looking for a Compensation & Payroll Analyst to join our team! This role plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and effective administration of the Company’s compensation and payroll programs. This position is responsible for managing salary and compensation transactions, incentive calculations, payroll-related compensation activities, reconciliations, and recurring reporting. Serving as a critical partner between Human Resources, Finance, and Payroll, the analyst helps ensure compensation actions are accurately calculated, processed, documented, and reported in a timely manner. The role also supports payroll administration, financial controls, and compliance efforts to maintain data accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and drive efficient compensation operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and contributing to programs that support employees and business success. This is a hybrid, position and is based in our Corporate Headquarters in Glen Allen, Va. This role will report to the Assistant Controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Human Resources, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in compensation, payroll, finance, accounting, or financial analysis.
  • Experience processing payroll and administering compensation and incentive programs.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (ADP preferred), reporting tools (Power BI a plus), and financial audits.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while handling confidential information in a fast-paced environment.

  • CPP, CCP, or related certification, and public company experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer compensation programs, including salary increases, promotions, transfers, market adjustments, and incentive payments.
  • Process and audit payroll transactions, ensuring accurate employee data, deductions, tax elections, garnishments, and payroll adjustments.
  • Calculate and support short-term, long-term, and sales incentive programs, including eligibility tracking and annual payouts.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations, compensation analyses, financial reports, accruals, and general ledger support.
  • Support payroll audits, year-end reporting, compliance activities, system testing, internal controls, and continuous process improvements.
