Orthopedic Medical Assistant

About The Position

As an Orthopedic Medical Assistant at OrthoAtlanta, you will guide patients by escorting them to exam rooms, assisting with dressing/undressing, and ensuring their comfort and privacy. You will gather information by accurately reviewing patient registration details, collecting necessary forms, and completing EMR intake documentation. You will also coordinate care by preparing surgical orders, scheduling lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtaining test results, and managing medical clearances for surgeries. Additionally, you will handle patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals, and monitor and respond to physician queues. You will also provide DME support by demonstrating proper fitting and usage of durable medical equipment (DME) like braces and soft goods when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience)
  • 1+ year of medical office experience preferred
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred)
  • Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong sense of professionalism and patient confidentiality
