About The Position

The Ortho Tech at DMOS works alongside physicians and clinical team members to gather basic patient information and support physicians during appointments. The role helps patients feel comfortable and ensures they are seen in a timely manner. The Ortho Tech greets and prepares patients, and assists with casting, cast removal, and wound care. This full-time position is based in West Des Moines and follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with Saturday coverage from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM once every 6–8 weeks.

Requirements

• Communicate clearly and professionally, listen carefully, ask questions, and avoid interrupting.
• Provide reassurance to nervous patients.
• Work independently, stay focused, and recognize when to ask for help.
• Be able to reach, stoop, walk, and spend most of the day on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Gather basic information to support the physician during patient appointments.
• Greet and prepare patients for orthopaedic appointments.
• Assist patients during appointments, including with casting, cast removal, and wound care.
• Help provide a comfortable patient experience and ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.
• Work alongside physicians and other clinical team members.
