About The Position

The Ortho Tech works at DMOS in Ankeny, gathering basic information to support physicians during patient appointments and helping ensure patients are seen in a timely manner. The role works alongside physicians and other clinical team members to provide a comfortable patient experience. Duties include greeting and preparing patients for orthopaedic appointments and assisting with casting, cast removal, and wound care. The role involves being on your feet most of the day, with reaching, stooping, and walking while assisting patients.

Requirements

• Communicate clearly and professionally, listen carefully, ask questions, and avoid interrupting.
• Provide reassurance to patients who are nervous.
• Work independently, stay focused, and know when to ask for help.
• Have a passion for patient care and the orthopaedic field.

Responsibilities

• Gather basic information to support the physician during patient appointments.
• Greet and prepare patients for orthopaedic appointments.
• Assist patients during appointments, including with casting, cast removal, and wound care.
• Work with physicians and clinical team members to provide a comfortable patient experience and help ensure patients are seen in a timely fashion.
