About The Position

We're seeking a Operations Research Analyst to support innovation and efficiency for the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River Innovation & Readiness Department. If you enjoy hands-on development across analytics, dashboards, and custom tools, we'd love to hear from you! The Operations Research Analyst develops mathematical and statistical models, custom applications, and data-driven products that deliver innovation and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 4 years of data science, operations research, and custom application development experience
  • Above average experience developing and applying mathematical and statistical models and operations research techniques
  • Above average experience conducting predictive analysis to evaluate alternative courses of action
  • Above average experience supporting qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Above average experience programming in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), R)
  • Above average experience designing, developing, and maintaining custom applications and automation tools
  • Above average experience building data-driven dashboards and digital products with the Microsoft Power Platform (e.g., Power Apps, Power BI)
  • Above average proficiency gathering, assembling, cleansing, validating, and analyzing data to produce valid and reliable findings
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Experience creating reports, presentations, user manuals, and training guides
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent ability to work effectively in a team and with stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain / maintain a Secret DOD Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and adapts mathematical and statistical models and techniques to support readiness analysis
  • Conducts predictive analysis to evaluate and compare alternative courses of action
  • Designs, develops, and maintains custom applications and automation tools to meet the emerging needs of tenant units
  • Builds data-driven dashboards and digital products using tools such as Power Apps, Power BI, and Python
  • Gathers, assembles, cleanses, validates, and analyzes data to produce valid and reliable findings
  • Applies both qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models that resolve problems or define solutions
  • Analyzes readiness programs and initiatives to identify trends and produce predictions appropriate to the needs of tenant units
  • Researches methods and advanced statistics to devise innovative solutions and recommend alternatives where there is no single solution
  • Identifies opportunities and methods for capturing readiness-related data
  • Supports biweekly updates to the Commanding Officer's update brief
  • Creates documentation, user manuals, and training guides for custom applications
  • Maintains clear and concise documentation
