About The Position
This is highly skilled rehabilitative work with patients whose ability to manage daily living tasks is impaired by developmental deficiencies, aging, medical concerns, or psychological and social disabilities. The Occupational Therapist provides evaluations, consultations, and skilled treatment; documents activities; and instructs patients, families, and students. Work is performed under the general supervision of an Occupational Therapist II or Occupational Therapist Supervisor. The role is per diem, onsite in Apex, North Carolina. The candidate must be able to work a minimum of two weekend shifts per month and pick up full weekday shifts as needed. Standard hours are 4.00 per week. The position is classified as exempt from overtime.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in North Carolina.
- Ability to work at least two weekend shifts per month and pick up full weekday shifts as needed.
Responsibilities
- Complete OT documentation in the medical record according to department guidelines and complete department records for billing and statistics.
- Manage the OT caseload efficiently and effectively.
- Manage resources needed to carry out treatment plans and achieve patient goals.
- Plan and coordinate clinical programs in response to patient needs, technologies, clinical practices, regulations, and reimbursement; communicate regularly with physicians, supervisors, and others about OT programs and patients served.
- Provide clinical supervision and teaching for OT students or staff, including planning orientation, caseloads, and learning activities; provide feedback and coaching; and evaluate learner performance.
- Select and perform appropriate OT evaluation procedures to identify and assess problems; set treatment goals and devise treatment plans; and reevaluate and adjust plans in response to the patient's changing condition and discharge plans.
