About The Position
Journey Healthcare is seeking an Activities Assistant to help enhance residents’ well-being through engaging activities and meaningful events. Working closely with the Activities Director, the Activities Assistant helps plan monthly activity calendars, leads group and one-on-one activities, and coordinates events and outings. The role also involves learning residents’ activity preferences, supporting participation, documenting attendance and responses, and reporting observations or concerns.
Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- CNA certification is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Activities Director with planning, creating, and posting a monthly activity calendar accessible to residents and visitors.
- Interview residents or family members to understand activity preferences.
- Facilitate residents’ participation in activities.
- Document attendance and residents’ responses to activities.
- Monitor residents’ moods, behavior, and involvement during activities.
- Report changes or concerns to the Activities Director.
- Conduct group and one-on-one activities.
- Coordinate events and outings.
